"Climate and Health in Africa: 10 Years On" Workshop at UNECA in Addis Ababa, April 4-6, 2011
The IRI in partnership with the Ethiopian Climate and Health Working Group, the African Climate Policy Centre, WHO-AFRO, UNDP, the UK Meteorological Office and Exeter University hosted a major Pan-African workshop on the impacts of climate on health across the continent. Over 100 participants attended including practitioners, policy makers, donors, researchers, the media, as well as providers and multi-sectoral users of climate information. The workshop built on the first training course of its kind held in 1999 in Bamako, Mali on Climate Prediction and Health in Africa and looked at progress made over the previous decade and recommendations for a road map moving forward with a view to COP17 and beyond.
